FEBRUARY 1-2, 2020: The first weekend in February is associated with one thing here on North Carolina's Crystal Coast—CHOCOLATE! The Carolina Chocolate Festival, held at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City, is a local favorite event where you can celebrate all things chocolate. Sample some of the most indulgent treats while supporting local charities all at the same time. Along with the Chocolate Festival itself, there is a Chocolate Spa, Cocoa 5K Run, and Pro/Am bake off, too. Charity and chocolate, what could be better?
FEBRUARY 2, 2020: Join in the Super Bowl Sunday fun at the Emerald Club in Emerald Isle starting at 1pm and continuing into the wee hours of Monday morning. A cornhole tournament starts out the day with trophy and cash prizes along with plenty of food for the game and some cool giveaways throughout the Super Bowl party. Feel free to bring a dish, a friend, and enjoy some drink specials at this no-cover event.
FEBRUARY 9, 2020: Join in the 3rd annual Seaside Sensory Fun Day at the NC Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores! This is a day of discovery designed for children and adults living with autism and their families, including my broker in charge and his autistic son. Explore the aquarium using your senses. Activities include nature walks (weather permitting), live animal programs, a sensory exploration room, a "quiet" dive program, calm space for families and educational tables set up by local autism support organizations.
