The Town of Emerald Isle remains under a State of Emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to limit the spread of the coronavirus, The Town is extending its mandatory restriction on short term rentals through May 8, 2020. The restriction prohibits the renting of a hotel room, motel room, rental housing unit, condominium, RV campsite, primitive campsite, or similar accommodation.
However, based upon the current NC Stay at Home Order through May 8th, Property owners/managers may accept occupants effective May, 9, 2020. And, beginning May 9th, some public parking areas will reopen.
As it now stands, Emerald Isle residents and property owners can access the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Bogue Sound. Permitted activities include swimming, surfing, kiting, kayaking, fishing, and boating. Residents can walk, jog, and sit on the beach strand. All beach goers must adhere to the current social distancing guidelines.
Seemingly, society is in the process of entering a new normal. And, so, too, are my businesses. Flip Flops Donuts only has take out and online ordering at this time. In previous episodes, I described some of the new ways I am using digital resources to capture leads for my real estate business. Indeed, this video channel is but one of them.
With my digital advertising, most of the leads I capture are in what I call Phase ONE of the buying cycle. “Just Looking. “ And, in this phase, my only contact is through media, the telephone, texting, email, newsletter and so on. Social distancing at its finest. Eventually, some of these leads progress from a Phase ONE buyer….just looking to a Phase TWO buyer…can you show me this house.
How I handle Phase TWO buyers in this COVID-19 environment is the subject of my next blog.
