The off-season in Emerald Isle, NC starts in mid-October and goes to mid-April. Spring events start in earnest in May, and we all know how great summer is here.
A lot of vacation home owners and full time residents look forward to the off season. It's a great time to still enjoy the beach and activities associated with the coastal lifestyle are less crowded. The Town of Emerald Isle, NC sponsors fishing tournaments, beach music festivals, holiday parades and other events deep into winter.
Because Emerald Isle, NC makes an effort extend their tourist season, rental agencies managing vacation properties have several types of Off-Season rental programs to entice visitors to the Crystal Coast.
1-3 Night Minimum Off Season Rentals
This is a great option for buyers coming from out of town to experience life as a local as well as look at properties for sale. I have a half duplex that I offer to my clients during the off-season for just this purpose. If this appeals to you call me at 919-308-2292.
This 1-3 night stay also is great for folks who simply want to get out of Dodge for a restful, relaxed weekend.
Short Term Monthly Rentals
Longer term rentals of a month are an awesome option for people who simply want to get away from winter and the snow, ice and freezing temperatures associated with winter. Emerald Isle, NC is very near the Gulf Stream and, as such, is buffered from the harshness of winter weather. Most of the winter, I get by with a heavy sweater! My duplex often has monthly winter guests in November, February and March.
Year Round rentals
Year round rentals are extremely hard to find in Emerald Isle, for a couple of reasons. First, the weekly rental income streams during the high season is extremely lucrative. Second, inventory is down since Hurricanes Florence and Dorian visited in 2018 and 2019. More year round rentals are available on the mainland in towns like Cedar Point, Cape Carteret and Newport.
Winterizing your vacation home in Emerald Isle, NC
A lot of homes in Emerald Isle, NC are second homes and some second home owners shut down their homes during the off-season. This lowers the cost of ownership and can lessen the wear on the property. Usually, the water is shut off and the heat is turned down low. This may be a good thing for homeowners, but this does reduce the off-season vacation rental inventory. I do not winterize my properties, so if you want a home to rent in Emerald Isle, NC this winter, text or call me at 919-308-2292 or send me an email to: DRaczkowski@FathomRealty.com.
