Do I pass the Agent's Audition?

Why should you select me from among thousands of Crystal Coast REALTORS to sell a home to you? After all, I have a first name that is always misspelled (a single ‘N,’ not two) and a last name that is always mispronounced (hint: Ratch-KOV-ski.) With a last name like mine, clearly, I didn’t grow up in North Carolina (hint: New Jersey) but to my credit, I got here as fast as I could.

Then, again, I have vacationed here on the Crystal Coast since my days on the faculty at Duke University, the same university where I received not only my bachelor but also my doctorate degree. Over twenty years ago, my wife and I purchased two direct oceanfront properties situated in the 7000 blocks of Emerald Isle where we are permanent residents.

So I am decidedly not a native. But as a seasoned and grizzled property owner, I’ve lived with and through waves, tides, hurricanes (Fran, Dennis & Floyd) , nor’easters, erosion, high winds and, most recently, Hurricanes Florence (a doozy) and Dorian. I'm thinking that the number of Crystal Coast REALTORS who can make these claims are now in the hundreds.

Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to turn my realty dreams into reality. I obtained my broker license and REALTOR designation to do the same for you. Just because you can buy or sell almost everything with a couple of clicks on your phone or laptop does not mean that you should buy or sell real estate, all by yourself. ‘Do It Yourself’ is fine for purchasing commodities. However, a real estate purchase here on the Crystal Coast is decidedly NOT a commodity. You need a team of professionals to make your realty dreams (and not your nightmares) a reality. That team better include a banker, an attorney and your real estate agent and that agent better be me!
