Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Can you believe how quickly this year is flying by? Luckily, there is still time to plan your special Valentine’s getaway, and we want to help!
Table for Two?
One of the first steps to the perfect evening with your sweetheart is by choosing the perfect restaurant to set the mood. Nothing says "I love you” like some delicious food and a decadent dessert to follow. (at least that’s my favorite way for people to tell me they love me). Several local restaurants will be hosting Valentine’s specials and you can make reservations now to ensure a spot at your favorite. Amos Mosquito’s, Circa 81, and are some of my avorites along with Rucker John’s. CaribSea and Kathyrn’s Bistro and Martini Bar right here in Emerald Isle! None of these restaurants will disappoint. With such delicious food, it’s sure to be a perfectly romantic dinner and certainly one to remember.
A Walk to Remember Emerald Isle and the Crystal Coast is home to some of the most beautiful beaches you have ever seen and there’s no shortage of perfect sunrises and sunsets. What better way to continue your romantic evening than to enjoy the sunsets on the beach that rank a 10 out of 10 on any scale, then stroll through the twilight just as the silvery moon begins to sparkle across the ocean? Emerald Isle is home to the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast, and you will not be disappointed with a long walk, hand in hand, along these beaches with your Valentine. If you are in more of an adventurous mood, you can walk along some of the Crystal Coasts’ historic downtown districts in Sawnsboro, Morehead City and Beaufort, and find some of the charming local shops. You can also visit Emerald Plantation right here in Emerald Isle which not only has some wonderful souvenir shops (perfect for a memento Valentine gift), but it also houses a movie theater, and some delicious restaurants that you can stop by for dessert, so be sure to check it out with your sweetheart. Valentine’s With the Kiddos Now, as many of you with small children are well aware, a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway is not always possible, so even if you’re not able to step away for the evening, there are still some fun things you can do with the kids as well! You can take the kids to MacDaddy’s Bowling Alley this Valentine’s Day, or just enjoy a walk on the beach as the kids search for shells. If shelling is on your "to-do list,” make sure to pick up several small shells so that you can create a Sailor’s Valentine. This fun craft is an awesome keepsake as well as a perfect Valentine.
